SolaceCompass
Privacy Policy
Updated: July 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how SolaceCompass handles information in connection with the public SolaceCompass website, progressive web app features, public library pages, free resources, contact forms, email lists, checkout flows, digital-product delivery, licensing records, and any protected membership sections of the site.
SolaceCompass provides educational, creative, reflective, and self-support resources. SolaceCompass is not an emergency service, medical provider, crisis line, or substitute for qualified professional care. Please do not send crisis information, private medical records, or highly sensitive health information through public forms, ordinary email, checkout notes, or membership support unless a secure channel has been expressly provided for that purpose.
1. Who is responsible for this policy
For purposes of this policy, “SolaceCompass,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to SolaceCompass and the legal person or entity that operates the SolaceCompass website and related digital services.
Privacy contact: [email protected]
2. Scope of this policy
This policy covers both public and protected areas of SolaceCompass, including:
- the public website at solacecompass.com;
- public pages for Inner Aftershocks, books, galleries, freebies, blog posts, help and safety pages, and contact pages;
- progressive web app and offline-cache features;
- newsletter, early-access, waitlist, freebie, and support interactions;
- direct digital-product, image-license, practitioner-license, and organization-license checkout flows, if offered directly by SolaceCompass;
- membership pages, member libraries, account areas, gated downloads, and member support, if offered;
- license-acceptance, receipt, and purchase records associated with SolaceCompass digital products and image assets.
Third-party marketplaces, payment processors, publishing platforms, social networks, embedded services, and external links have their own privacy policies and terms. SolaceCompass does not control their privacy practices.
3. Information we collect from public visitors
The public site is designed to collect only what is reasonably needed. We may collect:
- Information you provide: name, email address, message contents, newsletter preferences, freebie requests, survey responses, or other information you choose to send.
- Technical information: IP address, approximate location, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, dates and times of access, error logs, security logs, and similar diagnostic data.
- Cookie and local-storage information: information stored by your browser for site functionality, analytics, security, remembering preferences, or progressive web app performance.
- Communications: emails, contact-form submissions, support requests, and related correspondence.
4. Information we collect from members
If SolaceCompass offers a protected membership area, we may collect and process additional information needed to create, maintain, secure, and support membership access, including:
- account name, email address, username, password or authentication-provider information;
- membership tier, subscription status, access rights, start and end dates, renewal history, and cancellation history;
- purchase history, invoices, receipts, transaction identifiers, license type, license version, product SKU, and digital-delivery records;
- download history, access logs, member-library activity, support messages, and account-security events;
- payment-related information processed by payment providers. SolaceCompass does not intend to store full credit-card numbers on its own servers;
- organization or practitioner license details where applicable, such as named practitioner, organization name, authorized staff count, site count, participant limits, and license-certificate data.
Membership activity logs may be used to provide access, prevent unauthorized sharing, maintain download limits where applicable, enforce license terms, troubleshoot issues, and protect the integrity of the member library.
5. Purchases, licensing, and the image license terms
Some SolaceCompass image assets, printables, digital packs, practitioner resources, organization resources, or other commercial images may be governed by separate license terms. The SolaceCompass General Image License Terms are available at https://www.solacecompass.com/license-terms.
When you purchase or accept a license, we may keep records of the transaction and license acceptance, including your name, email address, order ID, product/SKU, licensed assets, license version, schedule, timestamp, payment status, download delivery, and any practitioner or organization license fields needed to document the license scope.
These records are used for contract performance, customer support, legal compliance, accounting, security, fraud prevention, license enforcement, and rights management.
6. External marketplace and platform purchases
SolaceCompass may link to Amazon, Etsy, Gumroad, TikTok Shop, Payhip, payment processors, publishing partners, or other external platforms. Those platforms may collect and process names, addresses, payment details, tax information, delivery information, account information, marketplace analytics, refund requests, and support communications under their own privacy policies and terms.
SolaceCompass generally receives only the information those platforms make available to sellers or publishers, such as order details, customer contact information, transaction status, product purchased, royalty reports, sales reports, support messages, or aggregated analytics. SolaceCompass does not receive or store full credit-card numbers from those external platforms.
7. How we use information
We may use information to:
- operate, secure, maintain, and improve the website, PWA, public library, membership areas, and digital downloads;
- create and manage accounts, memberships, subscriptions, licenses, purchases, receipts, renewals, cancellations, and support requests;
- deliver freebies, downloads, digital products, member resources, license documents, and updates you request;
- respond to messages, support requests, rights inquiries, licensing questions, organization inquiries, and professional-resource requests;
- document acceptance of licenses, privacy terms, terms of sale, digital-supply consent, and other transaction records;
- protect SolaceCompass assets from unauthorized sharing, scraping, public-file access, account misuse, chargeback abuse, fraud, spam, security threats, or license violations;
- analyze site performance, content usefulness, technical errors, audience interest, and product performance;
- send newsletters, product updates, member notices, account notices, policy updates, and administrative communications where permitted;
- comply with tax, accounting, payment, legal, reporting, and recordkeeping obligations;
- enforce our rights, terms, licenses, and agreements.
8. Legal bases where applicable
Where privacy law requires a stated legal basis, we may process information based on one or more of the following:
- Contract: to provide products, memberships, accounts, downloads, licenses, receipts, support, and related services you request.
- Consent: for optional newsletters, certain cookies or analytics where required, immediate supply of digital content where required, and other optional communications.
- Legitimate interests: to maintain site security, prevent misuse, improve services, protect intellectual property, maintain records, and communicate about existing purchases or accounts, where those interests are not overridden by applicable rights.
- Legal obligations: to comply with tax, accounting, consumer, privacy, fraud-prevention, law-enforcement, and legal-process requirements.
- Vital interests or safety: only where necessary and lawful in an emergency or serious safety situation.
9. Cookies, analytics, service workers, and local storage
SolaceCompass may use cookies, browser storage, service-worker cache, analytics tools, security tools, CDN logs, and similar technologies. These may help the site load faster, remember preferences, protect against abuse, measure traffic, identify broken pages, improve content, and support offline or app-like features.
You can use browser settings to block cookies, clear cache, remove local storage, unregister service workers, or limit tracking. Some features may not work correctly if these technologies are disabled.
10. Email and marketing communications
If you sign up for email updates, freebies, launch notices, or member communications, we may send messages related to those requests. You can unsubscribe from promotional email where an unsubscribe option is provided or contact us to request removal. We may still send transactional or administrative emails related to purchases, membership, security, license notices, policy updates, or support.
11. Sensitive information and health-related content
SolaceCompass content may discuss PTSD, grounding, reflection, self-support, creativity, and related educational themes. That does not mean SolaceCompass wants or needs your private health information.
Please do not submit diagnoses, treatment records, crisis details, therapy notes, private medical information, or information about other people through ordinary site forms, email, product reviews, public comments, or membership support. If you choose to send sensitive information anyway, we may process it only as reasonably necessary to respond, protect safety, comply with law, or maintain appropriate records.
12. Community features, comments, and submissions
If SolaceCompass later offers comments, forums, testimonials, submissions, member posts, surveys, or community features, information you post or authorize for publication may be visible to others. Do not post private health details, third-party personal information, confidential information, or content you do not have permission to share.
We may moderate, remove, retain, or restrict submissions to protect users, comply with law, enforce terms, prevent spam, or protect the SolaceCompass service and community.
13. Sharing information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with:
- hosting, CDN, analytics, security, email, support, membership, checkout, payment, tax, accounting, file-delivery, and cloud-service providers;
- marketplaces, publishers, payment processors, and platform partners involved in transactions you initiate;
- professional advisers, accountants, insurers, legal counsel, and business operations providers;
- law enforcement, regulators, courts, or other parties where required by law or legal process;
- parties involved in investigating fraud, security incidents, rights violations, chargebacks, misuse, or threats to safety;
- a successor or prospective successor in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.
14. International processing and transfers
SolaceCompass may use service providers located in Canada, the United States, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or other countries. Your information may be processed in countries with different privacy laws than your country of residence. Where required, we use appropriate contractual, technical, organizational, or legal safeguards for international transfers.
15. Data retention
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. Retention periods vary based on the type of information.
- Contact and support messages may be retained while needed to respond and maintain records.
- Purchase, tax, license, membership, receipt, and accounting records may be retained for legal, tax, audit, accounting, rights-management, and enforcement purposes.
- Technical logs may be retained for security, diagnostics, abuse prevention, and site operations.
- Newsletter records may be retained until you unsubscribe or request removal, subject to suppression-list and legal-record needs.
- License records may be retained for as long as necessary to verify license scope, defend rights, process disputes, and enforce terms.
16. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, and disclosure. No website, email system, membership portal, download system, or internet transmission is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and notifying us if you suspect unauthorized access.
17. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or obtain a copy of personal information; withdraw consent; unsubscribe from marketing; or lodge a complaint with a privacy regulator. We will respond to requests as required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity before acting.
To make a privacy request, contact [email protected]. We may keep information where necessary for legal, security, accounting, dispute-resolution, license-enforcement, or legitimate business reasons.
18. Children and minors
SolaceCompass resources may be useful to adults, caregivers, educators, families, or professionals supporting younger people, but the website and membership services are not directed to children under the age required by applicable law to consent to online services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, contact us.
19. Automated decisions
SolaceCompass does not intend to use personal information from the website or membership service to make legally significant decisions about users solely by automated means. We may use automated tools for spam filtering, security, fraud prevention, analytics, account protection, and content-delivery operations.
20. Do Not Track and preference signals
Some browsers or devices send “Do Not Track” or similar signals. Because there is not a single uniform industry standard for such signals, the site may not respond to all of them. Where required by applicable law or supported by the services we use, we will honor legally recognized opt-out or consent signals.
21. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the public website, PWA, membership areas, checkout systems, license offerings, analytics tools, marketplace integrations, or legal requirements change. The “Updated” date above will change when the policy is revised. Continued use after an update means the updated policy applies going forward, subject to mandatory rights that cannot be waived.
22. Contact
